Chaloner has partnered with a leading global brand in their search for a Global Retail Communications Manager based out of their Greater Boston area headquarters.

Our client’s Global Retail Operations group ensures operational excellence in their 200 retail company owned stores in North America, Europe and Australia. They have an exciting opportunity and looking for a dynamic, high-energy retail communications professional to join their team.

This expert will help develop an internal communications strategy to create a sense of community with 1,500 remote RDG employees in the US/EU/AU, while fostering employee engagement. The position will serve as a hub of two-way communications with the home office, stores, and the corporation, ensuring an effective delivery of key messages.


  • Develop the Communications Strategy with a solid plan for a quick implementation
  • Support the strong Change Management initiatives the Channel needs toward realizing the Future of Retail
  • Connect with internal stakeholders and the external agency for the plan implementation
  • Identify the right mix of capabilities/channels (Apps, Yammer etc.) to activate an effective Retail two-way communications framework, creating and managing a mix of tools (videos, messages, newsletters, etc.) effective in connecting with all audiences, mainly Millennials
  • Support Region Management in creating a compelling Gamification process and tool
  • Drive the Development and Oversight of a global communications platform, including content, format and updates, and interacting with external agencies to develop compelling content and using the right voice
  • Manage Playbook – task management tool
  • Continuously benchmark key retailers’ way of connecting with stores

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 8-10 years of global communications and writing experience, preferably retail focused or a communications agency background
  • Strategic thinking and ability to innovate in the Digital landscape
  • Change Management competencies
  • Digital capabilities: Ability to understand and select the right tool for the right communication. High degree of proficiency in Social Media and Digital tools, Internet applications
  • Competencies in understanding the global audience, find the right communication channel and use the right language to activate engagement
  • Employee Engagement skillset and strong attitude in connecting with others and empathy
  • Undergraduate degree in Communications, Business Communications or related studies

This position will report to the Global Retail Director and serve on the Senior Leadership Team. Approximately 25% travel is required, domestic and international.
