Chaloner is partnering with a global management consulting firm on a search for a B2B Product Marketing Editor to join its corporate headquarters in Boston, MA.

The B2B Product Marketing Editor, a newly created position, will be responsible for developing the messaging and content to promote product offerings. He/she will serve as an internal resource within the Marketing Department, providing online and print copywriting, video scripting, infographic storyboarding, headline writing, and other types of editorial support as required. The B2B Product Marketing Editor will provide this support to the Online, Global Brand, Global Video, and Global Editorial teams, helping to ensure that messaging and content is coordinated and consistent among them; seeking opportunities to create derivative content from product brochures that help spread their digital footprint; and aiding their practices in marketing and selling products.


  • Support the Online and Brand teams in the development of product brochures and online product pages, converting product materials supplied by our client’s practices into succinct, compelling descriptions that will appeal to a target audience of business executives
  • Manage freelancers to support these activities
  • Support Practice Editors by taking ownership of any requests for product support they receive, passing those requests on to the appropriate Marketing resources and supporting any content development required
  • Funnel all product content development through our client’s standard editorial process to ensure zero-defects and aid the Editorial team in workflow planning to minimize process disruptions
  • Attend meetings with practices if and when requested by the Online, Brand or Editorial teams to gain an understanding of product features and marketing and sales support needs
  • Work with Online Design to develop infographics that illustrate our client’s products and that can be used by their practices for sales support
  • Work with the Global Video team, as needed, to develop our client’s product videos, including product descriptions, results videos (case studies), partner “talking head” videos, and client testimonials
  • Maintain current working knowledge of all Editorial projects and serve as a resource for other Marketing teams that need access to related materials


  • Excellent writing skills with demonstrated ability to effectively reach a business audience
  • Strong, demonstrated familiarity with the requirements of online publishing
  • Experience with video script writing and directing video shoots is strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within and across teams and influence others
  • Communicate with key stakeholders effectively in an open, honest, and direct fashion
  • Generate solutions, not just identify problems
  • Demonstrate a high commitment to customer service
  • Maintain a high degree of team spirit, pitching in where needed and respecting all contributing members of the team
  • Ability to understand and add value to the development of strategic management consulting materials
  • Comfortable meeting deadlines and working in cross-functional teams


  • Undergraduate degree required, MBA a plus
  • 7–10 years of professional writing or copywriting experience with a focus on business products
  • More than 3 years of experience in a B2B or professional services firm strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent writing skills, demonstrated through writing samples
  • Experience in an online environment, working knowledge of online content management systems a plus
  • Fluency in online content and business relationship development trends
  • Solid working knowledge of PowerPoint
  • Experience using the following platforms a plus, but not required: Kapost, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Excel
  • Ability to effectively collaborate globally through virtual media
  • Self-starter with the proven ability to work independently, yet demonstrates a team-oriented approach
  • Proactive thinker and doer regarding process improvement
  • Ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment; works well under pressure; remains flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, all the while demonstrating the highest level of professionalism
