Chaloner has partnered with an international disruptor food brand on their search for a Consumer Communications Manager. The Consumer Communications Manager will manage day-to-day interactions with key local and national consumer media in the U.S as well as partner with external stakeholders in order to drive brand awareness programs, build brand loyalty amongst consumers, and implement communication plans and initiatives to increase consumer engagement. This role will be responsible for implementing a creative and multi-dimensional approach to consumer awareness.

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Manage day to day media relationships with consumer media and influencers
  • Develop and implement external communication and consumer engagement strategies that engage and motivate consumers to interact more heavily with the brand and increase brand loyalty
  • Partner with the Corporate Communications team to identify story lines, create pitches and strategically generate positive media attention across wide-ranging multimedia outlets including print, online, TV, radio and social platforms
  • Develop and manage comprehensive media lists that target everything from traditional media to niche platforms to increase brand awareness
  • Generate press kit materials and compelling photos and videos for consumer communications
  • Liaise with all departments to ensure consumer communications are on-brand, strategic, consistent and support brand integrity
  • Oversee the overall production of external communications, events and program materials for the purpose of communicating consistent and on-brand messaging to consumers. Ensure all communications reach multi-generations, diverse consumers, and various levels of education
  • Drive new approaches of delivering communications in more efficient, effective ways by challenging existing processes and recommending new approaches
  • Manage the external communication response to crisis situations which affect organization perception and reputation
  • Keep up with trends in social media, in foodie culture, in entertainment and any other relevant areas
  • Work cross-functionally with research and marketing teams to proactively discover trends in data that will create opportunities for fun consumer pitches
  • Manage and leverage our current consumer feedback to adjust communications content accordingly
  • Identify, implement and monitor metrics to measure effectiveness of communications and engagement initiatives and to develop action plans and objectives to continuously improve
  • Develop and execute annual budgets, proposals, and timelines for all initiatives that fall under the umbrella of consumer communications
  • Perform other duties as necessary

The requirements of this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications or related field
  • 6+ years of consumer communications in a high-growth and fast paced environment
  • Strong media relations experience (proactive and reactive)
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to build relationships
  • Proven ability to exercise confidentiality around sensitive information
  • Proven ambassador of culture and innovative content
