Chaloner has partnered with a Detroit based company specializing in online buying and selling of premium and collectible consumer goods on their search for a Director of Digital Marketing & Acquisition.

This position will form a key component of the company growth story. Our client has built a live marketplace that is unique and has attracted a passionate user base. As they continue to grow their digital acquisition marketing, they are looking to hire a professional that can lead strategy and implementation. They are looking for someone that knows how to scale customer acquisition programs and teams. You will be able to work effectively in a fast paced organization. You will have experience of working with App and Web products and know how to develop and optimize a multi-channel strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead digital customer acquisition of paid marketing channels (Paid Search, Display, Paid Social, Retargeting, Influencer Marketing) and SEO to drive incremental growth for the Sneaker, handbag, watch and streetwear
  • Develop actionable media strategies to scale new customer acquisition in web and app whilst maintaining ROI targets
  • Manage external agencies and publisher relationships to progress media capabilities and marketing strategies
  • Collaborate with Marketing Operations and Content to drive the creation of assets needed for various channels ensuring outputs are on-brand and on-message
  • Partner with internal creative, product and engineering teams to identify product enhancements and features that will be instrumental in branding and marketing
  • Develop best-in-class digital channel attribution, data insights, and reporting
  • Manage the acquisition budget making frequent calls on spend volumes per campaign and channel based on performance
  • Deliver against key metrics including traffic, revenue growth, cost per acquisition, active customers and lead generation
  • Make campaign targeting and optimization decisions
  • Setup and execute effective testing scenarios and measurement of test results

About You

  • 5-8 years’ experience working in customer acquisition roles ideally within an ecommerce context (concurrent app and web experience would be a distinct advantage) with at least 3 years as the departmental head responsible for digital customer acquisition in a successful organization
  • Experience of scaling customer acquisition programs including building out teams
  • Experience managing external agencies
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the online advertising ecosystem: various players (tools, networks, publishers, advertisers, remarketing techniques, app install opportunities), tracking technology, and channels
  • Possess a strong strategic mind-set and be capable of turning first class strategy into first class implementation
  • You must be an effective influencer/negotiator with partners and internal resources
  • While the organization is established, there is still a strong entrepreneurial/start-up mentality and operation style. You need to balance consistency and process with adaptability and flexibility to the needs of the business and customer
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge of the sneaker, watch or handbag categories/industries would be an advantage
