Job Type

Chaloner has partnered SHoP Architects on their search for a Public Relations Manager to be based at their New York office.

Our Team

The Identity Team at SHoP Architects is a closely collaborative group that works across disciplinary boundaries to help define and communicate the strategies and design work of the studio. Our mandate is both internal and external: to creatively support SHoP's dynamic culture, and to share its work and values in all public channels. Our team's responsibilities include but are not limited to business development, press and publishing, photography and archiving, web and social media, internal and external special event and exhibition planning, and the design and implementation of data-intensive operational platforms to facilitate SHoP's workflow at scale. We are responsible equally for helping to shape the studio's mission, and for directly maintaining the systems and materials we create to document and express it.

The Position

The management of external relationships – including press -, the development of story ideas and the preparation of materials for publication are all integral components of the broader work of SHoP's Identity Team.

The responsibilities of the Public Relations Manager include: coordination with design teams in the development of visual and written assets, media relations, influencer programs, PR events, leadership positioning of the firm and the talent, brand-building storytelling, maintenance of SHoP's master project calendar, creation of concepts for and assembly of press kits, representing SHoP at public forums and events, management of online platforms (social and web), and strategic pursuit of additional communications-related projects and capabilities as needed in coordination with Identity Team and studio-wide goals.
