About the Position

Whiteboard Advisors’ mission-oriented strategic communications practice is seeking a self-motivated, creative and highly intelligent Senior Associate to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be a tested PR professional with strong project management skills and demonstrated experience providing excellent client service. The role is based in Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities

  • Outstanding client service: serve as a day-to-day client point of contact who can consistently support, counsel and wow clients.
  • Media relations strategy development and execution: you’ll be tapped to develop and pitch creative, compelling, targeted earned media strategies that bring client’s stories of growth, innovation and impact to life.
  • Writing and editing skills: draft client facing documents, collateral, content and thought leadership/white papers that showcase the work of innovative organizations and entrepreneurs.
  • Influencer relations: demonstrate a strong command of the experts who drive the conversation in education and know-how to reach and engage them on behalf of clients.
  • Capacity building: guide and assist clients as they develop new skills and processes to strengthen organizational operation and strength.
  • Project management: as a Senior Associate managing client programs, your time-management and organizational skills must be top notch.
  • Research: be a smart and nimble investigator to source and uncover important information quickly.
  • Problem-solve: activate an entrepreneurial mindset to figure out what’s needed and propose ideas and suggest solutions.
  • Operate with wisdom and speed: fast-paced is your favorite pace; our clients demand speed, and so do we.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of public relations experience
  • Communications experience in education, technology, workforce development, health and wellness, start-ups, social impact encouraged.
  • Excellent writing skills
  • A calm strength under pressure; ideally some experience with crisis communications
  • Experience identifying, securing, and managing speaking opportunities and events.
  • A curiosity about the world and social transformation
