We are conducting the search for a Senior Communications and Marketing Manager to be based in the company’s corporate headquarters in Fairfax, VA. We are seeking candidates who thrive in fast-paced environments who want to be part of an enthusiastic, action-oriented team. This position supports the company’s growth and evolution by increasing the value of the brand with customers, employees and communities.

The Senior Manager will work across all parts of the organization to ensure that they are maintaining an ongoing dialogue with corporate and retail field employees and engaging them in the company’s strategy, culture and values. This person will be responsible for setting the communications strategy as well as rolling up her/his sleeves when it’s time to get the work done.

Additionally, this position will oversee external communications and marketing initiatives for the company, including PR, brand stewardship, digital marketing and advertising. The role will partner with and direct several outside agency resources who assist with the day-to-day implementation of these activities.


  • Conceptualize, execute and manage an overarching communications and marketing program that promotes a cohesive brand identity to internal and external audiences.
  • Create and implement communications strategies to ensure delivery of key corporate messages that inform and engage employees at all organizational levels.
  • Manage multi-channel marketing activities including SEO, social media, print and digital advertising, direct mail and promotions.
  • Serve as brand steward, ensuring consistent corporate messaging and image use throughout all locations, and across all platforms.
  • Work with senior leaders to employ effective communications strategies within their organizations and the company as a whole. Partner to develop messaging, plans and programs that drive organizational engagement and foster increased corporate visibility externally.
  • Utilize existing leadership and employee communications channels including town halls, email, newsletters and intranet to share information and drive engagement, while proactively suggesting and stating the business case for additional methods (i.e. mobile, digital signage) to reach employees.
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects as well as internal and/or external resources (i.e. consultants, agencies and vendors) to effectively achieve project goals.
  • Serve as writer/editor and support development of communications and marketing materials.
  • Prepare and manage annual communications and marketing budget.
  • Set and monitor Key Performance Indicators for marketing campaigns and continuously track, report and optimize to achieve established business goals.
  • Evaluate and measure effectiveness of communications and marketing programs, using the results to strengthen the planning and execution of future programs.


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing, public relations or a related discipline.
  • Five or more years of relevant communications and marketing experience, including execution of internal communications and multi-channel marketing programs.
  • Experience communicating to a large and dispersed retail field force strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills and sound judgment.
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication and influencing skills.
  • Outstanding creative, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
